More Things in Heaven and Earth

More Things in Heaven and Earth by Jeff High

I won this book in a giveaway without reading what the book was about. At first I thought the book was about some Christian thing, but I was surprisingly proven wrong. This is about a man who has just finished his med schooling and has decided to move to a small town to become their new doctor. He doesn't really feel like he fits in a first, and has some mixed feelings coming from the natives. As the book goes on things take different turns that are somewhat unexpected and some aren't.
The book is nicely written, yet some of it seemed detached to me. There are emotions there, however the don't seem very strong.  I just couldn't connect that easily. I actually took a break for about a week in the middle of the book, when I had my first week of school, and I was able to start right back up without much trouble. There is also a lot of describing (I'm a fan of description, but there was so much!) that I didn't really care for. Lastly, the main character annoyed me a little during the climax. Maybe it was just me, but it was easy to figure out what happened and in my opinion it took the main character a while to figure it out.
With all those parts, I really like the ending though. Overall, I enjoyed the book and think those who like reading about small towns, doctors, and people who care about others, this is a book you may want to check out.

The Edge of Never By: J.A. Redmerski

The Edge of Never
By: J.A. Redmerski

"Heart always wins out over the mind. The heart, although reckless and suicidal and a masochist all on its own, always gets its way"
J.A. Redmerski, The Edge of Never

Let me just start off by saying that this is one of the best books I've read in a while. Redmerski really knows how to send you on a emotional roller coaster ride. The drama starts on page one and let me tell you at the end you will definitely be sobbing. Well you will if your anything like me. The main characters Camryn and Andrew are very well rounded and both of them have issues of their own, and together they teach each other how to love again, and that you never have to be alone. All in all, the book was amazing. Im secretly (well its no secret really) in love with Andrew. This book is one hell of a journey. I give it a whopping 5 STARS. ITS A MUST READ! MUST, MUST, MUST! Seriously, go buy it!

Siren's Lullaby book 2 ---- Captivate

The second book of the Siren's Lullaby -Captivate- begins with Felicia "luring" again, something she has been doing more and more. Felicia finds out things are happening to her that don't happen to the other sirens. Plus Phorcys has shortened the time on his ultimatum, so Felicia has to work fast. Not too mention the guy problems she's going through. To add to all of this, there is someone else killing people and no one believes Felicia.

I found this book a little harder to get into than the first book. Once I was in though, it was hard to turn away. With each page I absorbed, I couldn't wait for the next. The story left more questions than answers, but hopefully the next book will answer those questions.
Another thing was, this was significantly shorter also. It may have been shorter, but it was just as packed as the first. I cannot wait for the next book to come out.

Thanks,
A.

Siren's Lullaby book 1 --- Surface

In Surface, by Jody and Jayme Morse, Felicia lost her little sister years ago. After that happened, Felicia lost her mother and went to live with her grandmother. Now, Felicia has two guys after her and someone in town looks like her dead sister. After things are explained about her sister's death, Felicia is 'adopted' into a new family that is quickly threatened.

Jody and Jayme Morse have not disappointed with this book. I have read their Howl book series and enjoyed their writing. The sisters keep you wanting more with each book, this one is no different. It is worth the money and time to read.
For myself, the book was a short read (considering a long read to be more than 600 pages) and I was done within a few hours. The story was very entertaining and well written. The plot was easy to follow and things transitioned well.

In my opinion, get the book if you can.

Thanks,
A.
